Programs & Events
The Office of Parent & Family Programs collaborates on several large events on campus throughout the year to provide opportunities for you to visit your student and connect with other parents at both a local and regional level. Below are some important annual events.
|Bruin Day (April - Freshman; May - Transfers)
Bruin Day is dedicated to welcoming newly admitted students and families and helping them decide if UCLA is the best fit for them. Events include fairs on academic and student life, workshops and lectures, campus tours and open houses, and much much more!
New Family Orientation is designed to help new parents and families get acquainted with the university and provide them with information and resources geared towards supporting their students’ success at UCLA. At orientation, parents and families receive information on a variety of topics from faculty and staff presenters. For more information, please visit the New Student & Transition Programs website .
|Bruin Family Weekend (Late October - Early November)
This annual three-day, on-campus event is designed to give parents the opportunity to experience UCLA’s campus from a new perspective with your Bruin. Weekend events include workshops, lectures from faculty and staff, social events, and much more! Parents will receive more information about this exciting event in September.
|Coffee Social Day (January-February)
Coffee Socials are small, informal gatherings held at neighborhood coffee shops and hosted by a current UCLA parent or family member. This event allows the Office of Parent & Family Programs to bring UCLA to communities across the globe. They also provide an opportunity for parents to engage with one another on a regional level and foster connections and relationships between parents and family members of current UCLA undergraduate students.
