Building Community at UCLA
Is your student looking for ways to stay connected to UCLA and their fellow Bruins while taking courses online? Encourage them to check out the UCLA Community web page, which brings together events hosted by Bruin communities around the world into a single calendar. The web page includes True Bruin Welcome activities, taking place online Sept. 24 – Oct. 4. Bruins are also invited to explore the Student Affairs Guidebook, which serves as a hub for navigating fall quarter and finding support as students prepare for the year. The guidebook includes information on health and safety, campus life, the nature of instruction and more.
On campus or at home, there is a community for every Bruin.
Bruin Family Experience 2020
Save the date for Bruin Family Experience, a virtual fun-filled day on Saturday, Oct. 24! Enjoy presentations from star faculty, learn about campus resources, feel the Bruin spirit, and connect with your student and UCLA at a time when building community is more important than ever. Information about registration will be available in early October.
Ashe Student Health Resources
The Ashe Center is still available to support Bruin health! Students can utilize remote services and access immunization requirements right on the Ashe website. Looking to learn more about student insurance options? Students can also explore UC SHIP coverage, waive UC SHIP for the year by Sept. 20 and consider whether the BruinCare program is right for them.
For the latest updates regarding UCLA and COVID-19, please visit the COVID-19 resource page. Here you will find updates from campus leadership, health and safety protocols, and details about campus operations.
Student Legal Services
When unexpected circumstances arise, the attorneys at Student Legal Services (SLgS) can help your student with virtually any type of legal issue they may encounter while at UCLA. From landlord/tenant matters for students living in an off-campus apartment to accidents and injuries, tickets, harassment, employment, and consumer matters, SLgS is here for all Bruins. Encourage your student to reach out to SLgS at 310-825-9894 if they have a question or need support. Students can also request an appointment here.
