Move-In Weekend
Move-in weekend is almost here! Parent and Family Programs has the information you need to make the weekend a success. Whether you have questions about the logistics of your student’s move-in time, what they should (or should not) bring, or what activities will happen during the weekend, we have you covered. Don’t forget to visit our information booths on The Hill while you’re on campus.

MOM STILL MATTERS
A UCLA study found that young adults are more likely to choose their parent over a friend when making decisions. “Parents continue to have an enduring impact on their children as they become adults,” says author Jennifer Silvers.

BRUIN FAMILY WEEKEND
Save the date for Bruin Family Weekend, happening Oct. 26-28! Enjoy three memorable days with your student as you get a taste for campus life and take part in Bruin traditions. Registration opens at the end of September.

BRUIN PARENT AND STUDENT
Every so often parent and child are UCLA students together – at the same time! In this piece Bruin alumnus and parent, Doug Larratt MBA ’17, Parent ’17 & ’19, reflects on his recent experience going back to school at UCLA with his two daughters.
GRIT Peer Coaching
The GRIT Peer Coaching program is committed to the development and well-being of the whole student. GRIT stands for guidance, resilience, integrity and transformation. Students receive individualized support from trained peer coaches. This program is offered through the Bruin Resource Center.
Your Bruin Can ACE UCLA!
Is your student new to UCLA? Encourage them to get the most out of their transition by enrolling in University Studies 10: ACE UCLA, a 2-unit, Pass/No Pass course intended to help new freshman and transfer students transition into, engage with and navigate the University’s complex structure. Don’t delay – send your student to their MyUCLA account to register before spaces are full.
